In 2026, Mighty Oaks Theatre Company CIC began delivering women-only creative arts workshops in the Wakefield District, with a focus on socialisation, confidence-building, and personal development. Within these workshops, assistance for women experiencing mental ill health, domestic abuse, financial difficulties, issues around housing and homelessness, and requiring support for health and pregnancy is signposted. Women are encouraged to seek support from the workshop facilitator if they need help to access these services. These sessions have been increasingly well-attended by women of all ages. Starting at 18, the sessions have been attended by women in every age group from teens to their 70s and the most recent session held by Mighty Oaks Theatre Company CIC also collaborated with another female-run CIC in the District, Fanfare Music, to support women in raising their voices and working collaboratively. The impact of the sessions has been attendees accessing mental health support, endeavouring to return to higher education and change careers, and seeking improved healthcare.
