Members' interests are classified between debt and equity in accordance with the substance of the underlying arrangement and the requirements applicable to limited liability partnerships.
Profits available for discretionary division among members are recognised within members' interests and are not recognised as an expense in the profit and loss account.
Drawings made by members are recognised as reductions in members' interests. Where drawings exceed balances standing to the credit of members, the excess is recognised as an amount due from members.
Where amounts become payable to members and meet the definition of a liability, they are recognised within loans and other debts due to members.
Amounts due to members in respect of reimbursable business expenditure are recognised as liabilities and measured at the amount payable.
Members' interests are presented separately between amounts classified as equity and amounts classified as debt where required by the LLP reporting framework.
