The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes.

Taxation

Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.

Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.

Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.

Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.

The interest element of these obligations is charged to profit or loss over the relevant period. The capital element of the future payments is treated as a liability.

9. RELATED PARTY DISCLOSURES

During the year ended 31/10/2025, the Company wrote off an intercompany loan receivable from FSF Fencing Supplies Limited, a related party under common control. The loan had originally been advanced to support initial capital investment in the business, but following a review of the counterparty’s financial position and future cash flows, management concluded that recovery was no longer probable.

In accordance with Section 11 of FRS 102, the loan was initially recognised at amortised cost. The write-off has been recognised as an expense in the statement of profit or loss for the year, reflecting the derecognition of the financial asset due to its impaired recoverability.

As required by Section 33 of FRS 102, the Company has disclosed the transaction as a related party item. The expense recognised during the period in respect of the bad debt due from the related party is included in the related party note. The write off of £340,459 will be realised in full over the next two accounting periods.

Management has applied judgement in determining the appropriate accounting treatment and disclosure, ensuring that the financial statements provide relevant and reliable information in accordance with paragraph 10.4 of FRS 102.
