COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

Year Ending: 28 February 2026

Company activities and impact

1. Introduction The reporting period has been one of reflection, adjustment and planning for KayesFriends. Following my operation in 2024, my recovery and the limitations this placed on my mobility, strength and energy affected the level of activity I was able to undertake on behalf of the organisation. Alongside this, I have devoted considerable time to supporting a close friend living with motor neurone disease (MND), whose health has declined. This has involved advocacy, helping to ensure that her needs and concerns are heard, and supporting her in navigating the challenges associated with her changing circumstances. Consequently, KayesFriends has operated at a reduced level during this period. Nevertheless, I have continued to promote the organisation's aims, maintain links with the community and explore opportunities to develop our work in a way that is both meaningful and sustainable. 2. Activities and Achievements Community Engagement and Publications KayesFriends maintained a presence within the community through participation in a book fair and the production and sharing of publications during the reporting period. These activities provided opportunities to raise awareness of the organisation and its work.

Consultation with stakeholders

Advocacy and Community Development KayesFriends maintained a presence within the community through participation in a book fair and the production and sharing of publications during the reporting period Discussions have taken place with the local council regarding the establishment of a forum for disabled people and their families. The proposed forum would provide an opportunity for individuals and families to share experiences, raise concerns, access information and discuss issues affecting their everyday lives. This remains an area of development, and further engagement will be necessary to explore how the forum might be established and sustained. Planning for the Be Proud Awards Preparations have also begun for the next Be Proud Awards ceremony, which is planned for November [insert year]. The awards remain an important part of KayesFriends' commitment to recognising and celebrating individuals and organisations whose contributions make a positive difference to the lives of others. Planning is ongoing, with the intention of continuing this annual event as a key part of the organisation's work.
