Over the last financial year Anew has continued to deliver tailored and bespoke supported accommodation and services within the borough. There is a huge ripple effect that the service has on individuals, families, community and the wider borough as a whole. This is due to our values, beliefs and service delivery, Anew believes that when an individuals core issues (i.e. their addiction) are treated they become much more manageable in other areas of their lives. The wider impacts of their circumstances for example homelessness are often symptomatic of their untreated addiction, and so by placing this issue at the centre of the support that is offered, along with wrap around support and enrichment, other areas of their life begin to also improve. Anew continues develop partnerships with local organisations and has continued to build on the partnerships with local art groups and media organisations this year, which also now have an art studio embedded within the wellness centre. The centre now also has an enriched programme of holistic activities that are delivered throughout the week including yoga, sound bath, group therapy, 1-1 counselling, drama group, family group and psycho-educational groups. Anew provided services to over 250 plus clients this year, providing safe and secure housing alongside considered provision for individual presentation. The data for our abstinent recovery programme remain consistent averaging around 80% long term abstinence. The vast majority of anew staff are local residents, we have multiple staff who have been trapped in a cycle of addiction, who are now clean and sober and contributing to society in a positive and meaningful way. Significant investment and refurbishment continues to happen, and Anew continues to also utilise local business to source furniture and white goods. Anew is an integral part of the homelessness offering within the borough, and is recognised as providing bespoke packages of care with high levels of expertise within the service and a high standard of accommodation for clients. Anew continues to grow and develop and rise to the ever increasing challenges and demands that are put on public services and 3rd sector organisation's. We are solution focused with a simple mantra and philosophy of "if not then what"? in other words what can be done, how can we work with an individual, what can we do to plug the gap in need. We are a forward-thinking organisation, with care, connection and authenticity at the heart of what we do.
Anew continues to strive for best practice and remains committed to on going and open discussion with stakeholders. We continue to foster close working relationships with the Local authority and drug services. We also continue to develop close working relationships with Adult services. This year our clients have continued to engage with stakeholders, with a recent event hosted at the wellness centre whereby The Arts Council were in attendance along with other originations from within the borough and members for the local authority. This was to open the new art studio and allotment. Consulting with our service users, funders and volunteers is an integral part of the organisation and this culture is embedded within our day to day services. Our services users and volunteers are consulted and involved in all aspects. Anew continues to grow and rise to the various challenges that come with working in this sector. We now employ approximately 64 staff, who are all in recovery and contributing in a meaningful way to wider society. We pride ourselves in being an organisation that is innovative and forward thinking.
The total director's remuneration for the year was £159,770.
