COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

NEXTGEN CIRCLE CIC

Company Number: 13802539 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 January 2026

Company activities and impact

This financial year, NextGen Circle continued to grow its community sport programmes across Bristol, with funding from Quartet Community Foundation and BBC Children in Need. We continued delivering our weekly football sessions throughout the year, giving young people and adults from minoritised communities a safe, consistent space to play, develop and connect. During the school holidays we ran youth camps that offered structured activity, coaching and healthy food at times when young people have least provision available. We grew our youth basketball programme, giving young people a second sport and a new pathway into regular physical activity. In partnership with Access Sport, we delivered pan-disability football sessions so that our work stays inclusive and accessible to all members of the community. We also worked with Caafi Health CIC to combine sport with health and wellbeing support for participants. We supported the Somali Bristol Community League alongside the Union of Somali Football, and entered teams into local league competition, strengthening links between community groups across the city. These activities support our core mission of empowering minoritised communities through the power of sport.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are the young people and adults who take part in our sessions, their parents and families, our volunteer coaches, our funders, and partner organisations including Access Sport, Caafi Health CIC and the Union of Somali Football. We consulted them through regular conversations at sessions, feedback through our WhatsApp groups, and discussions with partner organisations and funders when planning programmes. In response to this feedback, we added youth camps during school holidays, grew our basketball programme for young people who wanted a second sport, and worked with partners to make our sessions accessible to disabled participants.

Directors' remuneration

Two directors received payments for delivering coaching sessions, paid at the same rate as other coaches: Mahad Ali Ahmed £1,440 and Warsome Hersi £1,290. No other remuneration or benefits were received.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
