Other Debtors: Disputed Funds under Investigation
Included within Current Assets is an amount of £34,396.96 classified under Other Receivables. This balance relates to funds withdrawn from the company's bank accounts by a former director, which company management has determined were entirely unauthorized and executed without valid corporate purpose.
The matter is currently subject to an active investigation by the police. Consequently, management does not recognize this balance as a standard Director's Loan Account, as no loan agreement, authorization, or commercial consent existed. Management is actively taking all necessary legal steps to recover the full sum. While the outcome of the police investigation and recovery process remains subject to inherent uncertainties, management believes the asset is validly recorded at its recoverable value based on the evidence currently available.
The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts.
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets.
The accounts are presented in £ sterling.
