During the financial year 2025–2026, Easytibetan made a range of contributions to the community, in line with our primary aim of promoting, preserving, and advancing Tibetan language and culture internationally. Throughout the year, we organised online summer and winter schools, private Tibetan language and translation classes, and a range of public-facing cultural and educational events. In total, we provided Tibetan language education to approximately 50 students. We also sought to make our programmes accessible to people from different financial backgrounds by offering scholarships to students experiencing financial difficulties and subsidised fees to students from the Global South. As part of our commitment to making Tibetan language learning more accessible, we developed a Tibetan language learning app during the year. The app is currently available to our students free of charge, providing them with additional resources to support their learning outside the classroom. We also contributed to academic and cultural exchange. In collaboration with Sarnath Nyingma Institute and the University of Oxford, we invited a Buddhist monk from India to Oxford as a visiting scholar for a full academic term. With support from our donors and collaborators, Easytibetan funded his accommodation, stipend, travel and visa costs. During his visit, we organised public events in Oxford and London, where he offered Buddhist teachings, mindfulness meditation sessions, and talks for students and members of the wider public. These events provided opportunities for the community to engage directly with Tibetan Buddhist knowledge and traditions. Our free educational outreach through social media also expanded considerably during the year. We regularly shared accessible content about Tibetan language, culture, and history with the public at no cost. Our combined following on Instagram and Facebook increased from approximately 17,000 to 51,000 during the financial year, significantly expanding the reach of our educational and cultural content. In addition, we developed and produced Tibetan-language educational and cultural products, including playing cards and books, to support language learning and encourage wider engagement with Tibetan culture. Easytibetan also worked directly with Tibetan young people and community organisations. In collaboration with the Voluntary Tibet Advocacy Group (VTAG), we delivered a Tibetan language workshop for Tibetan students in London as part of their summer camp. More recently, in collaboration with the British Library, we delivered a public-facing workshop on the Tibetan language and its linguistic history, introducing members of the wider public to Tibetan linguistic heritage. Overall, our activities during the 2025–2026 financial year enabled us to provide direct educational support to students, increase access to Tibetan language learning, support academic and cultural exchange, engage the wider public with Tibetan culture and Buddhist traditions, and make free educational resources available to a growing international audience. These activities reflect Easytibetan’s ongoing commitment to preserving and promoting Tibetan language and culture while ensuring that our work benefits both the Tibetan community and the wider public.
