COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

BIGHT INITIATIVES CIC

Company Number: NI726106 (Northern Ireland)

Year Ending: 28 February 2026

Company activities and impact

During this financial year, the company was mostly dormant for the first 10.5 months. Active trading and community service delivery commenced during the final 1.5 months of the reporting period. Despite the limited operational window, we actively delivered on our constitutional objectives through the following initiatives: Providing a Safe, Inclusive Space & Fostering Community Development (Objects 1 & 3): We launched weekly social events for the LGBTQIA+ community and the wider public, creating a secure, welcoming environment for connection, social engagement, and mutual support for those struggling with issues like gender identity, mental health/mental illness, sexuality and body image. Advancing Social Inclusion & Supporting Disadvantaged Groups (Object 5): We hosted a community "clothes swap" event designed to provide free or low-cost clothing, directly assisting individuals with fewer financial means and promoting sustainable, community-led support. Collaborating with Local Grassroots Groups (Objects 3 & 5): We supported the wider local sector by offering heavily subsidized "social hire rates" to another external community group, ensuring they could access a dedicated space to run their own activities without prohibitive financial barriers.
