COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

MUIRHOUSE AND FLEMINGTON COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: SC685297 (Scotland)

Year Ending: 31 January 2026

Company activities and impact

Our activities include a Social Business Incubator and Environmental Support. In the 2025-2026 financial year, we carried out activities for the local community and, as in previous years, collaborated with the Muirhouse and Flemington Community Group, which was reactivated by the local community in December 2023. Together, we organized a number of community activities, including the Wings for Life World Run and International Clean Up Day, sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Our biggest undertaking was uniting active volunteers, residents, organizations, and the Polish school in Motherwell to organize the Muirhouse and Flemington Community Fest Pumpkin Day (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) and the 2nd UK Nordic Walking Championships. We also began managing the next edition of the Scottish Nordic Walking Cup, which provides a platform for promotional trips to events in England, Wales, Greece, Albania, Spain, and elsewhere. Our business has expanded and we now operate under the short name Angel Jason CIC, where we are responsible for renovations and construction work, and under the short name Community Transport Motherwell, where we manage transport services for families, people with disabilities, and children. Our organization also covers education, sports, recreation, Nordic walking, environmental protection, accidents, and animal welfare. Our work also helped local ethnic groups establish the Lanarshire Polish Community Group, where we co-organized the Polish Day of Polish Culture and the WOSP Charity Event.

Consultation with stakeholders

We are conducting consultations on community needs and activities. A survey of members and their families identified a number of issues that impacted our public transport operations. Working with the National Community Transport Association, we now provide public transport services for older people, people with disabilities, and students in Motherwell and a 15-mile radius. Subsequently, according to the results, over 62% of our customers have gained new opportunities thanks to our support, which has resulted in easier access to work. We are currently conducting focus groups to better understand the local community and assess its impact, addressing legal, economic, addiction, and other issues. We have achieved significant impact on the local community by hosting the Muirhouse and Flemington Community Fest/Pumpkin Fun Day and the Second UK Championships after a ten-year hiatus, as well as continuing regular activities to encourage children, older people, people with disabilities, and those with disabilities. To this end, we conducted public consultations and established a team of volunteers for a healthy lifestyle.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £7, 280. Some of the directors' work was performed free of charge for the local community and work was performed on an employee volunteer basis. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
