Little Squirrels Torquay CIC

Community Interest Company Report
For the year ended 31 January 2026
We have continued to provide Forest School sessions for local and home-educated families.
The sessions also provide a welcoming space for families to meet, build friendships and share experiences and this has been particularly significant for families with neurodivergent children.
At the request of a parent who wanted calmer, less-demanding sessions for their child with SEN, we created and tailored appropriate sessions. These now have the highest volume of visitors and continue to grow.
Our families continue to re-book, and this confirms we are meeting their need.

Consultation was undertaken with relevant stakeholders to inform the preparation of this CIC 34 report. Directors, staff and families were invited to provide their views on the key issues, which included accessibility and widening the reach of our sessions. This was done through direct conversations.
The feedback was reviewed and as a result, the aims are to become Ofsted registered and open as a childcare setting within the next year.
Additionally, through encouraging parent volunteers and consulting their views, we have now employed a parent who home-educates their child, as the child can accompany the parent to the sessions. Because the staff directly benefit, they strive for high-quality sessions for themselves and others.
