Digital Community
Fen Zen CIC actively engages and consults with its stakeholders through regular, informal and formal methods designed to encourage participation and shared ownership of the project’s direction. The organisation recognises that its success depends on maintaining open communication with those it serves and collaborates with.
1. Community Feedback and Conversations
Participants at events, workshops and volunteer sessions are invited to share their thoughts and ideas directly with the team. Feedback is gathered verbally at gatherings, through online messages, and via follow-up communication after activities. This helps shape future programmes, ensuring they continue to meet the evolving needs and interests of the local community.
2. Volunteer Involvement and Regular Check-ins
Volunteers and facilitators are consulted during planning meetings and informal check-ins. Their on-the-ground experience informs decisions about scheduling, accessibility, and site improvements. This collaborative approach helps maintain a sense of shared responsibility and inclusion.
3. Director Meetings and Governance Oversight
The Directors meet regularly to review progress, assess the impact of community activities, and discuss feedback received from participants and partners. These meetings guide strategic decisions and ensure that Fen Zen CIC continues to operate in line with its community interest statement and environmental principles.
4. Partnerships and Collaborative Planning
Partner organisations and visiting facilitators are consulted when planning joint events or venue-hire activities. This ensures that shared values — such as inclusivity, well-being, sustainability and community benefit — remain central to every collaboration.
5. Ongoing Digital and Community Presence
Through its website and social media platforms, Fen Zen maintains open channels for communication, event updates, and invitations for input. This allows for continuous two-way engagement, enabling community members to contribute ideas, volunteer their time, or express interest in new initiatives.
