THE HALL HOMELESS SUPPORT PROJECT LIMITED
TRUSTEES REPORT (INCLUDING DIRECTORS' REPORT)
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2026
- 1 -

The Trustees present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2026.

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the accounts and comply with the charity's governing document, the Companies Act 2006 and the Statement of Recommended Practice, "Accounting and Reporting by Charities", issued in March 2005.

Objectives and activities

The Charity's main objective is to help any homeless people to make informed choices to take them out of homelessness. We willingly provide advice and guidance and give them pointers as to where they can obtain further help. We have visits from the street outreach team, CGL workers, staff from Framework and Mansfield District Council. These practitioners are able to offer them expert help in rehousing and money management.

As well as this we see ourselves as a safe place for people to visit where they feel valued and cared for. A friendly face, a chat and people who genuinely interested in their wellbeing is what they greatly appreciate.

The Trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake.

Achievements and performance

The Hall continues to be extremely busy and is currently seeing up to 70 plus people on a weekly basis. From 8.30 to 10 am on a Monday we provide breakfast and a packed lunch to take away as well as clothes, the use of a shower and the facility to do clothes washing.

There is always a queue of hungry people which continues throughout the morning. Not all the guests are homeless; some have a room but little else. The current extremely high cost of living is putting many more people on the poverty line which is very sad to witness. We see new people every week who find themselves with no roof over their heads. Our guests are always extremely grateful for all the help we can give them.

The Hall continues to have a dedicated team of hardworking, loyal and kind volunteers who generously give of their time. We are also extremely fortunate to have regular monetary givers. Particularly at harvest time and Christmas we receive very generous gifts of food which help us on a weekly basis as well as helping us to provide emergency food parcels.

Some of the donated money we have spent on tents, shelters and sleeping bags. We have also organised a traditional Christmas dinner with lots of Christmas treats and a gift bag with presents including a £5 Greggs voucher. Donated money helps towards paying for this plus the generous donations for meals and vouchers from the very kind congregation at St Peter's church.

Financial review

The financial result for the year is shown on page 4.

It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at least at a level equivalent to between three and six month’s expenditure. The Trustees considers that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity’s current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year.

The Trustees has assessed the major risks to which they are exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks.

Structure, governance and management
