Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
Green Bean Properties Limited is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number 09970758 . The registered office is 14 Otterhound Drive, Godalming, GU7 2FP.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 section 1A Small Entities "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006.
2.2. Turnover
Turnover comprises revenue derived from the company’s core activities, including the letting of investment properties, the disposal of real estate assets held for investment purposes, and the provision of property management services. Rental income is recognised on a straight-line basis over the term of the lease, in accordance with the contractual lease agreements. Income from property disposals is recognised at the point of legal completion, when the significant risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to the purchaser. Fees earned from property management services are recognised over the period in which the services are provided, in line with the terms of the respective management contracts.
2.3. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on a straight-line basis, as follows:
Leasehold Over the remaining term of the lease
Fixtures & Fittings 10% per annum
2.4. Leasing and Hire Purchase Contracts
Leasehold properties are included within tangible fixed assets and are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and any impairment losses. Depreciation is charged on a straight-line basis over the shorter of the useful economic life of the asset and the remaining term of the lease.
This approach ensures that the cost of the leasehold property is systematically allocated over the period in which the company is expected to derive benefit from its use. The estimated useful lives and residual values are reviewed annually and adjusted if necessary.
