Company activities and impact

International Lighthouse CIC stands at the forefront of protecting the rights and interests of Eastern European citizens living in the UK. We are equally committed to ensuring that these citizens understand and adhere to UK laws, taking responsibility for any intentional failures to comply and recognising the liabilities that may arise from such actions. Since Brexit, the lives of European nationals in the UK have changed significantly. International Lighthouse CIC has taken on the responsibility of raising awareness, assisting, and guiding our clients and customers regarding their options for remaining in the UK after January 2021 under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) rules. We are proud to be qualified immigration advisers under the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) at Level 1 (EUSS) and striving to achieve accreditation as full Level 1 Immigration Advice Authority qualified firm. Our company is dedicated to ensuring that EU citizens living, working, and settling in the UK feel confident and informed when engaging with local authorities, the Home Office, the police, and in everyday interactions with private traders, neighbours, and others. We only take on matters within our competence and do not hesitate to involve specialist third parties when necessary, always keeping our clients fully informed before and during any transfer of their case. Even when referring cases to colleagues, we continue to provide aspects of client care free of charge, provided all parties are comfortable with the arrangement. We pride ourselves on putting our clients’ genuine benefit and real interests first. International Lighthouse CIC offers guidance, support, and information on a wide range of legal and general matters, from simple inquiry letters to open, multi-group dialogues, negotiations, and achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients. We are also qualified Police Station Representatives, providing crucial support to clients in police custody at PACE interviews. We have expanded our expertise by obtaining a Commercial Mediation Certificate and are planning to register with the Mediation Council UK. Our staff are actively pursuing diplomas in Paralegal and PSRA studies through Datalaw, further strengthening our capacity to serve our community. In response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, International Lighthouse CIC has played an active role in assisting with the Ukraine Resettlement Scheme and the Homes for Ukrainians programme. We work closely with West Northamptonshire and North Northamptonshire Councils on initiatives supporting rough sleepers, and we provide open talks and guidance on the Ukraine Permission to Extend Scheme. To further empower our community, we have launched an innovative educational app-hub, offering free guides on urgent legal and general topics. This resource is available in multiple languages, ensuring accessibility for all. We continued providing legal and general guidance to members of Eastern European Communities. From September 2024 we have extended our offer to members of all foreign countries and have been heavily involved in immigration advice on Claims for Protection, Asylum Claims, Domestic Violence Victims routes and points-based visas. We have provided extensive support to local charities and support groups, including: Victims Support, NDAS, Hope Centre, Sunflower Centre, WNC, NNC Roughsleepers teams, Adult Social Care and Children Services on enquiries. Support continued on employment, welfare, housing and criminal law for existing Eastern European communities. The majority of our clients are members of EEA communities who often find themselves entangled in complex legal issues and unable to afford traditional high-street advice services. Sadly, many fall victim to rogue traders and unqualified advisers, which can lead to even greater difficulties. We are committed to tackling the unregulated market of advisers and unregistered consultants who mislead the public and evade responsibility for their advice. At International Lighthouse CIC, we are proud to be a trusted, client-focused organisation, dedicated to providing reliable, qualified, and accessible support to those who need it most.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are members of Eastern European communities, Local Authority, local business and charitable establishments. Local is recognised as those within Northamptonshire Area. Working with WNC + NNC councils. International Lighthouse CIC, however, has assisted parties outside of Northamptonshire area on topics of our expertise. Feedback is provided in the form of consistent correspondence trail from our colleague- organisations, ongoing referrals and person-to-person recommendation of our services and our client’s based has been steadily growing year-on-year.
