Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 31 March 2026

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover represents income derived from the Company's principal activities and is stated exclusive of trade discounts. As the Company is not VAT registered, turnover is stated at the full amount receivable. Income from services is recognised when earned. Grant income is recognised when entitlement has been established and any conditions have been met. Donations are recognised when receivable and measurable with reasonable certainty.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy Tangible fixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuation, net of depreciation and any impairment tosses. Depreciation is recognised so as to write off the cost or valuation of assets less their residual values over their useful lives on the following bases: Buildings: 10% Computer Equipment: 33.3% Fixtures and Fittings: 20%

    Intangible fixed assets amortisation policy

Intangible fixed assets Intangible assets acquired separately from a business are recognised at cost and are subsequently measured at cost less accumulated amortisation and accumulated impairment losses. Intangible assets acquired on business combinations are recognised separately from goodwill at the acquisition date where it is probable that the expected future economic benefits that are attributable to the asset will flow to the entity and the fair value of the asset can be measured reliably; the intangible asset arises from contractual or other legal rights; and the intangible asset is separable from the entity. Amortisation is recognised so as to write off the cost or valuation of assets less their residual values over their useful lives Intangible Assets: 20%

    Other accounting policies

Other accounting policies Accounting convention The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the CIC. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest pound. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, [modified to include the revaluation of freehold properties and to include investment properties and certain financial instruments at fair value]. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below. Going Concern At the time of approving the financial statements, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the ClC has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus, the Trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements. Charitable/ Community Interest funds Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of their charitable/ Community Interest objectives. Restricted funds are subject to specific conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The purposes and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statements. Income lncome is recognised when the CIC is legally entitled to it after any performance conditions have been met, the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income will be received. Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the CIC has been notified of the donation, unless performance conditions require deferral ofthe amount. Income tax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donation. Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the CIC has been notified of an impending distribution, the amount is known, and receipt is expected. If the amount is not known, the legacy is treated as a contingent asset. Expenditure Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefit to a third party, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement, and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs of each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and shared costs, including support costs involved in undertaking each activity. Direct costs attributable to a single activity are allocated directly to that activity. Shared costs which contribute to more than one activity and support costs which are not attributable to a single activity are apportioned between those activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of time spent, and depreciation charges are allocated on the portion of the asset's use.

COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

FND.CHANGE C.I.C.

Company Number: 13244008 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2026

Company activities and impact

Over the past 12 months, Foundation 2 Change has continued to deliver vital, lived-experience-led rehabilitation and recovery support to individuals affected by addiction, offending, trauma, homelessness and poor mental health. Our work within HMP Birmingham has continued to focus on rehabilitation, mind-set and behavioural change, building trust and preparing individuals for release. Through our partnership working, we aim to break the revolving door of the criminal justice system and support people to build meaningful, sustainable lives in recovery. Within the community, our Pathway to Progress Hub in Digbeth has provided a base for recovery support, peer mentoring, life skills development and reintegration. Our activities have included rehabilitation group work, cooking and budgeting sessions, holistic therapies, trauma-informed support, breathwork and art therapy. We help individuals develop practical life skills, access housing and healthcare, reconnect with their families and communities, and progress towards education, training and employment. Partnership working has remained central to our approach. We continue to work alongside health services, housing providers, probation, criminal justice services and voluntary sector organisations to create joined-up pathways of support. This includes delivering Hepatitis C (Hep C) testing and working alongside specialist partners to connect individuals with appropriate treatment and healthcare. By taking services into trusted environments and building relationships through lived experience, we can engage people who have become trapped within the system, often experiencing significant barriers, stigma and a deep-rooted lack of trust in services. Our approach recognises that people who have repeatedly experienced exclusion or failed interventions may struggle to engage with traditional services. By building trust, offering consistent support and meeting people where they are, we create opportunities for individuals to access healthcare, address unmet needs and begin making positive changes. Through funding and collaboration, we have continued to develop opportunities that address both the practical and emotional barriers people face when rebuilding their lives. We have also promoted recovery, challenged stigma and celebrated positive change through community engagement and events. Our focus remains on creating lasting change, not simply short-term interventions. By combining lived experience, trusted relationships, accessible healthcare and meaningful partnerships, Foundation 2 Change continues to support individuals to move away from addiction and offending towards stability, independence and positive contributions to their families and communities.
