Notes to the Financial Statements
for the Period 1 August 2024 to 31 January 2026

1. STATUTORY INFORMATION

Catherine House Limited is a private company, limited by shares , registered in England and Wales. The company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page.

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

The financial statements are presented in Pound Sterling (£), which is also the company's functional currency. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest pound.

Critical accounting judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainty
In the application of the company's accounting policies, the directors are required to make judgements, estimates and assumptions about the carrying value of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources. The estimates and underlying assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.

The principal areas of estimation uncertainty include the useful economic lives of tangible fixed assets, the recoverability of trade debtors and intercompany balances, and the assessment of any impairment indicators in respect of assets.

Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes.

All of the company's revenue was generated within the United Kingdom.

Tangible fixed assets
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life.
Improvements to property - 20% on cost
Plant and machinery - 20% on cost
Motor vehicles - 20% on cost

Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Cost includes the purchase price and any costs directly attributable to bringing the asset to the location and condition necessary for it to operate as intended.

Depreciation is charged so as to write off the cost of assets, less their estimated residual value, over their estimated useful economic lives using the straight-line method, at the following annual rate:

All tangible fixed assets 20% straight line (60 months)

Useful lives and residual values are reviewed where there is an indication of a significant change since the last reporting date. Any change is accounted for prospectively. Assets are assessed for impairment where events or changes in circumstances indicate that the carrying amount may not be recoverable.

Taxation
Taxation for the period comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity.

Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.

Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES - continued
Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.

Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the period end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.

Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.

Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate.

Going concern / group support
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. The company is dependent upon the continuing financial support of its parent undertaking and fellow group companies. The directors have received confirmation that such support will continue for the foreseeable future and have reviewed forecasts and cash flow projections covering a period of at least twelve months from the date of approval of the financial statements. On this basis, the directors consider it appropriate to prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis.

Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents comprise cash at bank and in hand and short-term deposits with an original maturity of three months or less.
