Skate Haven CIC delivered skateboarding-led programmes for young people in Rotherhithe, Canada Water and the wider Southwark area. Core provision was twice-weekly low-cost sessions at Decathlon Canada Water: around 215 sessions and nearly 2,000 attendances. These were complemented by a twice-weekly after-school club at Dulwich College (around 50 sessions). In total the company delivered around 265 sessions and 2,300 attendances, reaching several hundred young people. Sessions combine progressive skills coaching with life-skills learning such as resilience, confidence and cooperation. Many participants have special educational needs or are neurodivergent, and the company provides them with a safe, structured and inclusive space to stay active and build friendships. Low prices and free places for referred young people widened access for families on lower incomes. 20 young people were enrolled for limited series of free sessions, ranging from 1 - 12 hourly slots, amounting to around 100 hours of free attendances. Two group skatepark trips were made with an additional 14 participants.
The company's stakeholders are the young people who take part, their parents and carers, partner schools (Dulwich College), our venue partner Decathlon Canada Water, funders including Sport England, our coaches, and the wider local community. Stakeholders were consulted mainly through ongoing conversations with parents and participants at sessions, alongside booking data, participant surveys and regular contact with Decathlon, partner schools and funders. In response, the company adjusted session start times in March 2025 to suit families' after-school routines. It trialled a later evening slot in July 2025, which was discontinued due to low uptake. In October 2025 it expanded the timetable, adding Tuesday sessions, a third Friday slot and a longer 1.5-hour Monday session. Following parent requests, it also opened bookings in January 2026 for its first half-term holiday camps.
During the year directors received total payments of £16,296.81, invoiced on a freelance basis in respect of qualifying services, mostly for coaching and programme delivery at standard sessional rates, with the remainder for administration, fundraising and management of the company. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
