During the year ended 31 January 2026, Bambers Inclusive CIC continued to provide inclusive swimming education for people with disabilities, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and neurodivergent individuals. The company’s activities focused on making swimming accessible to people who may encounter barriers to conventional swimming lessons. Swimming provision was led by the company’s in-house Occupational Therapist and delivered through a person-centred approach. Teaching methods, equipment and swimming strokes were adapted to accommodate individual abilities and support needs, enabling swimmers to learn at their own pace. The company provided swimming lessons at Peak School in Chinley, Wright Robinson College in Gorton and Total Fitness in Wilmslow. Provision included individual lessons and, where appropriate, group, small family and adult-and-child sessions. These different formats enabled teaching to be suited to swimmers’ needs and the level of support required. The teaching team combined swimming teaching and coaching experience with professional knowledge and lived experience of disability, SEND and neurodivergence. This helped the company to understand barriers to participation and provide a supportive learning environment. The company’s activities benefited the community by widening access to swimming education and physical activity. Lessons supported the development of swimming skills, confidence in the water and greater independence, while providing opportunities for enjoyment and participation alongside others. The company’s emphasis on adapting provision to the swimmer helped individuals who might otherwise struggle to participate in mainstream swimming activities.
The company’s principal stakeholders were its swimmers, including people with disabilities, SEND and neurodivergent individuals, together with their parents and carers, swimming teachers and coaches, and the venues involved in delivering its activities. The company’s approach to stakeholder engagement centred on understanding swimmers’ individual needs and the support required for their participation. Its published procedures provide for communication with swimmers and their parents or carers about changes that may affect swimming sessions, including changes in personal circumstances or support needs. These procedures also provide for teachers and coaches to be informed of individual swimming plans, including communication preferences, established routines and actions to avoid. This creates a practical route for information from swimmers and their families to inform the delivery and adaptation of lessons. The company’s safeguarding arrangements provide members and parents or guardians with an opportunity to raise welfare concerns confidentially through its Welfare Officer. Together, these arrangements support stakeholder involvement in maintaining swimming provision that is responsive to individual needs, inclusive and safe.
The total directors’ remuneration was £12,603.70.
