2025-26 saw a solid continuation of our community activities - here are some of the highlights: - 102 indoor coached sessions at our teaching venue (compared with 133 last year) with 1349 participations in total. The reduction in sessions offered was due to a rise in venue hire costs, which necessitated cutting the least attended of the three weekly sessions. - 2 surfskate festivals at BaySixty6 skatepark - Further development of our relationship with the Bowl at Selfridges, with 8 dedicated community sessions, and many smaller ad-hoc meetups across the community - 12 outdoor social skates at locations across London, including joint events with London Longboards and London Longboard Girls, Surfers Against Sewage, ROM skatepark and others - Themed events including Spring Jam, Easter Gathering, Go Skate Day, Summer Meetup, Halloween and Christmas skates, pumptrack and downhill sessions, and bowl sessions - 2 surfskate retreats at a farm in Devon - Many smaller ad-hoc meetups throughout the year at a selection of London skateparks
Our stakeholders are our community members. In 2024-25 we set up a group of Community Ambassadors - these are volunteers from the community who organise events and activities on behalf of the community as whole. This approach was a success and helped us run many more activities than the previous year. We have, therefore, continued this successful approach in 2025-26 and further expanded the Ambassadors group. The Ambassadors have a particular stakeholder role in representing the community as a whole, and this approach also helps separate the activities of Community Ambassadors and Company Directors. The Ambassadors propose activities and events, poll the community for feedback, and organise the most popular events, while the Company Directors focus on maintaining oversight of the correct use of community funds and resources in running any events. The Directors also support the provision of coached group lessons which requires logistical input such as venue hire.
