Perks of Reading CIC aims to promote a love of reading, build community connections and make reading more accessible. During the reporting period, the company organised a monthly book club, a secondhand book fair and several book-related social and craft events. The company maintained a social media presence, using polls and interactive stories to engage the community, and built partnership relationships with other local organisations in Liverpool. The activities - such as the monthly book club and the regular craft and social activities - provided opportunities for people to come together around books, discover reading materials, share their interests and develop connections with others in the community. The secondhand book fair supported access to pre-loved books, while the book club and social events helped create welcoming opportunities for people to enjoy reading as a shared activity. The company used feedback from participants to shape its activities and improve its offer, helping to ensure that events reflected the interests and preferences of the community it serves.
