2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements
These financial statement have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006. Turnover represents concert ticket sales, musical instrument hire and music lesson sales provided. Revenue from music services is recognised when the service has been provided and all obligations to the customers under the agreement have been fulfilled.

Intangible assets

Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.

Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the period end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.

Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.

The directors have no concerns that the company will continue to trade for at least 12 months from the signing of these financial statements.

Provisions
Provisions are recognised where the company has a present obligation as a result of a past event, it is probably the company will be required to settle the obligations, and a reliable estimate can be made of the obligations. The amount recognised as a provision is the best estimate of the consideration required to settle the present obligation at the end of the reporting period, taking into account the risks and uncertainties surrounding the obligation.

Leases
The company has early adopted the Periodic Review 2024 amendments to FRS 102. Under the revised lease accounting requirements, the company recognises a right-of-use asset and a corresponding lease liability at the commencement date of most lease arrangements.

The lease liability is initially measured at the present value of future lease payments discounted using the interest rate implicit in the lease, where readily determinable, or otherwise the company's incremental borrowing rate.

The right-of-use asset is initially measured at the amount of the lease liability, adjusted for any lease payments made at or before the commencement date, lease incentives received, initial direct costs and estimated costs of dismantling or restoring the underlying asset, where applicable.

Subsequently, the right-of-use asset is depreciated on a straight-line basis over the shorter of the lease term and the useful economic life of the underlying asset. The lease liability is increased by finance charges and reduced by lease payments made.

The company has elected to apply the recognition exemptions available for short-term leases and leases of low-value assets. Payments relating to such leases are recognised in profit or loss on a straight-line basis over the lease term.

Finance charges are recognised in profit or loss over the lease term so as to produce a constant periodic rate of interest on the remaining balance of the lease liability.
