Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits
The company operates a defined contribution plan for its employees. A defined contribution plan is a pension plan under which the company pays fixed contributions into a separate entity. Once the contributions have been paid, the company has no further payment obligations.
The contributions are recognised as an expense in the Income Statement when they fall due. Amounts not paid are shown in accruals as a liability on the Balance Sheet. The assets of the plan are held separately from the company in independently administered funds.
Exemption from preparing group accounts
The company is the parent company of a small group. The directors have taken advantage of the exemption in section 399 of the Companies Act 2006 from the requirement to prepare group accounts, as the group is small.

Going concern
The director has considered the company's current financial position, forecast performance and future plans. Following the year end, the company secured new investment and entered into a new commercial agreement which is expected to generate significant additional revenue in future periods. The company is also in the process of securing further external investment to support its ongoing operations and future growth.
These developments, together with the company's existing cash resources, forecast income and anticipated additional investment, provide the director with a reasonable expectation that the company will have sufficient resources to meet its liabilities as they fall due for at least twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements.
Accordingly, the director considers it appropriate to prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis.
