During the financial year ending 28 February 2026, Yes, We Belong! CIC worked to raise environmental awareness and encourage people to take greater responsibility for the environment and the communities in which they live. The company's work and community engagement have contributed to the following: 1. More than 300 people across Lewisham, Greenwich and Lambeth have been surveyed or engaged through community research and conversations. This included primary-aged children, young people and adults, helping us understand their experiences of nature, their local environment and public spaces. 2. We have raised awareness of environmental issues, including littering, fly-tipping and pollution, encouraging people to think about how their everyday actions can contribute to cleaner and greener communities. 3. We have developed our approach of using art, music and performance as accessible ways to engage children, young people and families in environmental education and encourage a stronger connection with nature. 4. We have encouraged community participation and a sense of belonging, bringing people from different backgrounds together around a shared purpose: looking after our environment and making a positive difference to our communities. 5. The Founder and Director has personally funded the organisation's development and activities to date, allowing Yes, We Belong! to continue developing its community work while seeking external funding. Our aim is not simply to raise awareness, but to encourage people to become active participants in protecting the environment. We believe that everyone has a role to play, and through creativity, education and collective action, we want to inspire more people to become Nature Advocates.
More than 300 people across Lewisham, Greenwich and Lambeth have been surveyed or engaged through community research and conversations, including primary-aged children, young people and adults. This engagement has explored people's experiences of their local environment, public spaces, nature, community connection and what could encourage greater care for the places where they live. The learning has informed the development of Nature, Belonging & Creative Expression. The public testimonials published by Yes, We Belong! provide qualitative evidence of community response.
