The trustee presents her report and the financial statements for the period ended 28 February 2026.
Objectives and Activities
Aims and Objectives
Warm Whiskers was established out of passion and love for animals, alongside the growing recognition that stray and abandoned animals, particularly cats and dogs, need greater support, protection and care. Across the UK and many other parts of the world, animal shelters and rescue organisations are becoming overwhelmed, with rising living costs and wider financial pressures contributing to greater levels of abandonment, neglect and animal welfare concerns. We recognised a growing need to do more for vulnerable animals who are often left without food, shelter, medical attention or a safe place to call home.
Our mission goes beyond animal welfare. By supporting stray animal populations, rescue efforts and responsible animal care, we also aim to benefit the wider public and society. Helping reduce the number of vulnerable animals living on the streets can contribute to cleaner, safer and less distressful neighbourhoods, reduce pressure on already overloaded shelters and local authorities, and help prevent the wider public health and environmental concerns associated with unmanaged stray populations. We also aim to encourage responsible pet ownership, educate communities about animal welfare and create opportunities for people to get involved through volunteering, donations and other forms of support.
Through education and awareness, we hope to help people better understand how to interact with animals safely, recognise neglect and abandonment, and make informed decisions about responsible pet ownership. In the longer term, supporting animal welfare can help ease some of the demand placed on local authorities, rescue organisations and public services, while encouraging a stronger sense of community involvement. We believe that caring for animals has benefits that extend far beyond the animals themselves, contributing to a healthier environment, more informed communities and a society built on kindness, responsibility and respect for all living beings.
Ultimately, Warm Whiskers hopes to make a lasting contribution to the UK by promoting compassion, community responsibility and better animal welfare standards. We believe that a society which cares for its most vulnerable is also a society that benefits from stronger communities, greater public awareness and a more compassionate future. Our goal is to give more animals the opportunity to live healthier, safer and happier lives while making a positive difference to the communities we serve.
Public Benefit
The wider public benefits through the promotion of responsible animal care, the prevention of animal cruelty, improved animal welfare and reduced numbers of animals living on the streets without adequate food or medical attention. Our work also supports local shelters and rescue organisations, enabling them to continue providing essential services to animals in need.
In the longer term, we intend to establish dedicated animal shelter homes where abandoned and mistreated animals can receive appropriate care, treatment and rehabilitation before being rehomed with suitable and loving families.
All activities will be undertaken for the benefit of animal welfare and the wider community, rather than for the private benefit of individuals.
The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of Section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
