HUMAN VALUES FOUNDATION

Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 31 March 2026

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Intangible fixed assets amortisation policy

Product and website development costs are initially recognised at cost. Subsequent to initial recognition, intangible assets are recognised at cost less accumulated amortisation. Amortisation is calculated on a straight-line basis over the estimated useful life as follows: Product and website development – straight line over 4 years.

    Other accounting policies

Stock - consists of purchased goods for resale. Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value. Cost is computed on a first in, first out basis. Net realisable value is based on an estimated selling price less the estimated cost of disposal. Foreign currencies - Monetary assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange prevailing at the accounting date. Transactions in foreign currencies are recorded at the date of the transactions. All differences are taken to the Income and Expenditure account. Creditors and provisions - Creditors and provisions are recognised where the Foundation has a present obligation resulting from a past event that will probably result in the transfer of funds to a third party and the amount due to settle the obligation can be measured or estimated reliably. Creditors and provisions are normally recognised at their settlement amount after allowing for any trade discounts due.
