Bolshee CIC, is a creative projects company with particular emphasis on including everyone and championing women and girls (everyone that identifies as female), from all ages and backgrounds. We work predominantly in York, as well as across Yorkshire and in the North. The Company was founded in March 2022. In the financial year 2025-2026, the company’s activity was reduced to changes in Director’s capacity, however we have benefited the community in the following ways: Finished our tour to FE and Colleges with The Dancefloor Project. Given a talk to students, alumni and local cross sector organisations at York St John, Institute for Social Justice around our work with The Dancefloor Project. Developed the relationship with the university and institute, supporting their Community Research Grant frameworks. Commenced work on a chapter for the Institute for Social Justice edited book, Doing Community Research. Secured funding for a young people’s project to be delivered in October 2026.
The company’s stakeholders are residents of York, Yorkshire, and the North. As well as arts organisations and universities in the surrounding areas. The directors of the company have lived in York for a number of years and have developed a business model for the company based on their experience of arts and culture in the city, by finding the gaps in arts engagement and by talking to residents, councillors as well as other arts organisations and CICs in the city. Specifically, in this financial year we have worked with: York St John University, Institute for Social Justice Space CIC The Golden Ball Community Pub We ask everyone taking part in our activity to fill in a short questionnaire about their experience working with us and what they would like to do next. This has helped us to build a profile of local needs and what we can do to meet them more effectively. Our research has enabled us to identify that things like price and location are important to our participants and that attending our sessions brings them a sense of community. We encourage those taking part in our services to give us honest feedback and suggestions so we can improve our program of work. We also signpost participants to what we are up to next and how they can get involved.
All information about our accounts can be found in our tax return. The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £3640.29. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
