During the period from 1 February 2025 to 31 December 2025, Association of Worship & Venue Technicians CIC undertook preparatory work towards developing technical standards, training and certification for volunteer technicians in places of worship and community venues. This included preparing and determining an outline framework for the proposed standards and liaising with industry professionals about how to develop standards accessible to a volunteer community. The intended community benefit is to support volunteer technicians in developing their technical knowledge and competence for the benefit of the places of worship and community venues they serve. The company had no trading income during the period. The work remained at an early preparatory stage. No training was completed, no certification was awarded and no standards were published during the period. No measurable community impact had been achieved at this stage.
The company’s stakeholders are individuals who operate audio, audiovisual, video, streaming and other technical equipment in a voluntary capacity in places of worship and community venues, without having received formal training or instruction. During the reporting period, users and prospective beneficiaries from this community were consulted through discussions at exhibitions and through local contacts. Their feedback highlighted the need for a framework and curriculum that volunteers could access on a part-time basis alongside paid employment and their existing volunteering commitments. This feedback informed the development of a proposed eight-grade structure, similar in approach to the graded model used by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. The structure is intended to allow learners to progress through a defined curriculum using their available spare time.
No remuneration was received
