1 Accounting policies
Company information
Charlton Somerset Properties Limited is a private company limited by shares incorporated in England and Wales. The registered office is Montigo Resorts Somerset, At Charlton House, Charlton Road, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 4PR.
1.1 Reporting period
The directors have prepared the financial statements from 5 November 2024 (date of incorporation) to 31 March 2026. There are no comparative figures as this is the first set of financial statements for the company since the date of its incorporation.
1.2 Accounting convention
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with FRS 102 “The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland” (“FRS 102”) and the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 as applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime. The disclosure requirements of section 1A of FRS 102 have been applied other than where additional disclosure is required to show a true and fair view.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the company. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below.
1.3 Going concern
The company made a loss for the financial period ended 31 March 2026 of £12,733 and at 31 March 2026 the company had net current liabilities of £12,633; this includes £2,501 due to the company's immediate parent company Montigo Hospitality Pte Ltd. The company is reliant on the support of its immediate parent company for continuing support. It is appropriate for the company to continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparation of the financial statements as the immediate parent company has given its undertaking to the company that it will provide continuing financial support to enable the company to meet its liabilities as and when they fall due in the next 12 months from the date of authorisation of the financial statements.

1.4 Turnover
Turnover is recognized at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for goods and services provided in the normal course of business, and is shown net of VAT and other sales related taxes. The fair value of consideration takes into account trade discounts, settlement discounts and volume rebates.
When cash inflows are deferred and represent a financing arrangement, the fair value of the consideration is the present value of the future receipts. The difference between the fair value of the consideration and the nominal amount received is recognized as interest income.
1.5 Financial instruments
The company has elected to apply the provisions of Section 11 ‘Basic Financial Instruments' and Section 12 ‘Other Financial Instruments Issues' of FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised in the company's balance sheet when the company becomes party to the contractual provisions of the instrument.
Financial assets and liabilities are offset, with the net amounts presented in the financial statements, when there is a legally enforceable right to set off the recognised amounts and there is an intention to settle on a net basis or to realise the asset and settle the liability simultaneously.
Debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate and receivable or payable within one year are recorded at transaction price. Any losses arising from impairment are recognised in the profit and loss account in other administrative expenses.
1.6 Equity instruments
Equity instruments issued by the company are recorded at the proceeds received, net of transaction costs. Dividends payable on equity instruments are recognised as liabilities once they are no longer at the discretion of the company.
1.7 Foreign exchange
Transactions in currencies other than pound sterling are recorded at the rates of exchange prevailing at the dates of the transactions. At each reporting end date, monetary assets and liabilities that are denominated in foreign currencies are retranslated at the rates prevailing on the reporting end date. Gains and losses arising on translation in the period are included in profit or loss.
