BASIS OF PREPARING THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" of Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
The accounts are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
RELATED PARTY EXEMPTION
The company has taken advantage of exemption, under the terms of Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland', not to disclose related party transactions with wholly owned subsidiaries within the group.
GOING CONCERN
In preparing these financial statements, the directors have considered whether the going concern basis of preparation remains appropriate. To make this assessment the directors have considered the current financial position of the company and anticipated future cashflows for a period of at least 12 months from the signing of these financial statements.
The company is reliant on the parent charitable company The Charles Hastings Eduction Centre not requiring immediate cash settlement of amounts due to them until there is sufficient cash generated from operations to make such payments. However the directors acknowledge that this support is not legally binding and that the parent charitable company could technically call in the debt at any time, and whilst it is considered unlikely that they should ever do so, if the parent charity did elect to do so the company would then not be able to continue as a going concern.
TURNOVER
Rent receivable under operating leases are recognised on a straight line basis over the period of the lease.
Turnover from the supply of services represents the value of services provided under contracts to the extent that there is a right to consideration and is recorded at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable.
LEASING
Rentals payable and receivable under operating leases are recognised on a straight line basis over the period of the lease.
