Accounting policies |

Basis of preparation |
|
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with FRS 102, The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, as applied to small entities by section 1A of the standard. |

Turnover |
|
Turnover represents the net amount receivable by the company in respect of fees and commissions, including the value of work undertaken on cases for which payment has not been received at the balance sheet date. |

Commission on indemnity terms |
|
Commission received on indemnity terms is recognised as income once the policy concerned is placed, subject to a provision for repayment in the event that premiums cease within the indemnity period. |
|

Investments |
|
Investments in listed investments are measured at fair value, with changes in fair value being included in the profit and loss account. |
